SCMowns john mod is a Forge remake of a 2012 mod that adds hostile mobs with drops, rebuilt from scratch for Minecraft 1.20.1.
What it does
The mod is a complete remake of SCMowns's john mod, rebuilt from scratch on Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. It adds a main mob, a baby variant that spawns in groups, and a mega variant, along with an immortality gem and a sword crafted from it. Client and server both need the mod, so a server and every player must install it alongside its required dependencies: Geckolib, Golden Days Base, GoodMC: Old Combat & Blockhitting and Old Combat Mod.
Installed on a server, the mobs spawn in the world under the usual rules, and each variant has its own stats and drops. The file is published for Forge only, for 1.20.1, with 1.0.0 as the latest file released on 2026-06-30. The code is released under All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source.
Key features
Main mob
The main mob has 40 health, 3 damage and 3 resistance, and can climb walls. It is immune to fire and fall damage.
Baby variant
The baby variant spawns in groups of five or six, has 15 health, 4 damage and 1 resistance, and drops XP bottles when defeated.
Mega variant
The mega variant is a rare mob with 600 health, 30 damage and 10 resistance. It knocks players back and can drop two diamonds or a blade.
Immortality gem
The main mob has a 33% chance to drop an immortality gem, and two gems can drop with a 12% chance. The gem is used to craft an immortality sword.
Immortality sword
The sword deals 6 damage, has 1561 durability and sets enemies on fire, dealing more damage to them while they burn.
