Scaling Feast
by yeelp
Scaling Feast extends Minecraft's hunger system so that players gain deeper hunger reserves and stronger healing as they progress through a world.
What it does
Scaling Feast is a progressive extension of the base hunger system. Over time it grants players larger hunger reserves, and it adds an extended form of health regeneration that restores one full heart per second, faster than the base game's own regeneration effect. Players work toward these benefits at their own pace, and the mod pairs with food mods such as Pam's HarvestCraft.
The mod adds Hearty Shank, a craftable item that grants extra hunger when eaten, and Iron Apple, a component of the Hearty Shank that regenerates hunger slowly once consumed. An uncraftable enchanted variant regenerates hunger faster while reducing exhaustion. The Hearty Feast block, a cake-like block made from Hearty Shanks, restores a percentage of maximum hunger over several slices. Scaling Feast requires AppleCore, and the minimum AppleCore version rises with each Scaling Feast release. Construct's Armory, CraftTweaker and Tinkers' Construct are optional dependencies that add further integration.
Key features
Progressive hunger reserves
Hunger capacity grows over time, so each hunger point lasts longer as the player advances.
Enhanced regeneration
Health regenerates at one full heart per second, faster than the base game's Regeneration III.
Hearty Shank and Iron Apple
Craftable food items add hunger, and the Iron Apple component regenerates hunger slowly once eaten.
Exhausting foods
Exhausting Potato and Exhausting Apple trade hunger for other effects, and the Exhausting Ore they require is found in hot and cold places.
Configurable HUD
Coloured hunger shanks and outlines show extra hunger, extra saturation and maximum hunger, and config options change the colours or hide saturation entirely.
