Rubber Duck adds a rubber duck block that players can place and decorate with, plus a duck that can be held and squeaked.
What it does
The rubber duck block is a small decorative piece for building a home. Players can place it on the floor or hold a rubber duck in hand, where it can be shown off or used to hide a guest. Right-clicking a duck makes it squeak, and the mod also adds a small chance of finding rubber ducks as loot in dungeons, which matters in survival worlds where new items are scarce.
The duck texture, model and squeak sound come from the work of salvadormg15, whose Forge rubber duck mod was ported to Fabric for this release. Some functionality changed during the port. The code is inspired by the original and copied over with permission, and the project is open source under the MIT License.
Rubber Duck requires Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin. The server and every player need the mod installed. Files are published for Fabric only, for 1.20.2 – 1.20.4, and the latest file is 0.5.0 for 1.20.4, released on the beta channel on 2023-11-14.
