Re:zer0
by Abunana
Re:zer0 adds a cursed death mechanic: after Witch Envy strikes, a player's death rewinds the body, inventory, health and the world itself to an earlier save point.
What it does
Receiving the Cursed effect creates a save point automatically. When a lethal hit lands, the player is returned to that point instead of dying: health, hunger, experience, inventory, effects and position are restored, and any item drops from the respawn are reverted. Players can also earn the Cursed effect by sleeping or opening a container, which creates further save points.
Each rewind is tracked per player, so one player's rewind does not affect the others on a server. Blocks placed after a save point disappear when the rewind happens, and blocks that were broken come back in their original state. Chests, furnaces and brewing stands are snapshotted too, which prevents duplication exploits. World time also rewinds for the dying player.
The mod is built for NeoForge and is published for 1.21.1 only. Installation covers the server and each player's game. The source code is public and the code is open source under the MIT License.

Use cases
Hardcore-style survival
Players who want a death that matters can rely on the Cursed checkpoints, since each one turns a fatal hit into a reset of recent actions.
Who it’s for: Players who want a cursed death mechanic in NeoForge 1.21.1 games, on single-player worlds or multiplayer servers where each player rewinds separately.
How it compares
Return By Death from Re: Zero is built for NeoForge 1.21.4 and is open source under the MIT License, so it is not available for 1.21.1. Rewind is also NeoForge only, for 1.21.4 – 1.21.5, and is released under All rights reserved. Revive By Death covers Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1 and is open source under the MIT License. Re:zer0 is the one of these built for 1.21.1 with the same client and server environment.
