Respawnable Pets

Respawnable Pets lets a player's tamed pets come back after death the next time that player sleeps, using an item called the Etheric Gem.

What it does

Players mark a pet for respawning by using the Etheric Gem on it, or by sneaking with the gem to mark several pets within a 9x3x9 area at once. Only pets owned by the player can be marked, and entities listed in the respawnablepets:cannot_respawn tag are excluded. The mod is published for Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt across 28 release versions, 1.16.5 – 26.3, and it needs Fabric API, Forgified Fabric API, Launchpad and StrawberryLib as required dependencies. MidnightLib is bundled inside the mod. The code is not open source, and the mod is released under All rights reserved. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Key features

  1. Etheric Gem marking

    Using the Etheric Gem on a pet sets it to respawn after death, and interacting with the pet again toggles the status.

  2. Area selection

    Sneaking with the Etheric Gem marks every owned pet inside a 9x3x9 area for respawning in one action.

  3. Respawn on sleep

    Marked pets return the next time their owner sleeps, so death does not permanently remove them.
