Re:Skin
by Sekwah
Re:Skin lets players set custom player skins from a web address with a chat command, and it works on Forge and NeoForge across 1.19 – 1.20.1.
What it does
Skins are applied with the setskin command, which takes a URL that points directly to an image file; a page that merely contains the image will not load. Players can reset to the vanilla skin with clearskin, and clearskincache reloads skins and empties the cache. HD skins are supported, and a sample skin in the author's notes is shown as a GIF.
Supported layouts are the classic 64x64 and 32x64 sizes, and any size that keeps the proportions of the defaults. Because Minecraft handles textures in powers of two, a size is built by doubling a base size until the wanted size is reached, and the author notes that smaller sizes should work in theory. The mod is open source under the MIT License and needs SekCore Lib on the same loaders.
Re:Skin is a client and server mod, so both the server and every player need it. It works alongside model changing mods, and the author notes that it works with Mo Bends and most other mods of that kind. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, with 3.0.2 as the latest build for 1.20.1, dated 2024-07-07.
