Reply adds an r command that lets a player answer the last person who whispered to them, without retyping the name.

FabricServer-side onlyMIT License1.21 – 1.21.11

What it does

Reply adds the r command. A player types r followed by a message, and the text is sent as a whisper to whoever last whispered to that player. The command removes the need to copy a name from the chat history before answering a private message.

The mod runs on the server alone, so players join without installing anything. It needs Fabric API, and it requires a configuration file, which the mod creates on first start. Files are published for Fabric only, across 12 release versions, 1.21 – 1.21.11, and the code is under the MIT License, but the project is not open source.

Installation needs the server to run Fabric Loader 0.16.8 or newer on Minecraft 1.21 or later. The latest build, 1.0.0, was published for 1.21.11 on 2024-11-05 and is the only version released so far.

Key features

  1. Reply command

The r command sends a whisper to the player who most recently messaged the sender, with no name typed.

  2. Chat-based replies

Replies go through the same whisper channel as normal private messages, so the recipient sees them as usual.

  3. Configurable setup

The mod reads a configuration file that the server owner can edit after the first start.
