Repair Box

by HER0XP

Repair Box is a portable chest for Forge and NeoForge that restores the durability of damageable tools, weapons and equipment by spending minerals.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Minerals placed in the box are converted into a repair pool, which is measured in points. Each point restores 1 durability to a damageable item placed inside the box, so tools and weapons can be fixed without spending experience levels or using an anvil. Items that are repaired this way do not need to be taken out of the box between uses.

The box opens with its own screen, with dedicated slots for the item to repair and the materials to load. The current and maximum stored values are shown, and buttons charge the pool or repair the selected item. A maximum storage limit keeps the balance of a world or modpack under control.

Installation covers the server and each player's game. Repair Box is published for Forge and NeoForge in two release versions, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and it is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. The mineral types and the point value of each one are set in a config file, which lets modpack authors adapt difficulty.

Key features

  1. Mineral-based repair pool

Configured minerals are consumed to fill a repair pool, with each point restoring 1 durability to a damageable item.

  2. Configurable repair values

The materials accepted and the point value of each mineral can be changed in a file, so a modpack can adjust difficulty.

  3. In-game configuration window

A special button, visible only in Creative Mode, opens a window where materials and repair values can be edited without leaving the game.

  4. Repair preview

After the chosen item and repair amount are set, the window shows the final result of the repair before it is applied.
