RegistryEdit
by Feintha
RegistryEdit is a small library for replacing registry entries at runtime, such as swapping the item that Items.STICK refers to.
What it does
The library lets other mods modify registry elements while the game is running, which is the part that normally needs a restart or a separate patch. Developers reach an element through a holder class when the element is not declared in a standard Items or Blocks class. Because overriding an entry affects every mod that reads it, the library needs careful use, and a misplaced edit can cause errors elsewhere. Files target Fabric and Quilt for 1.20 – 1.20.4, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Runtime registry editing
Entries in the game's registries can be changed while the game runs, without a separate startup step.
Holder class support
Elements declared outside the Items or Blocks classes can be reached through a provided holder class.
Overriding standard entries
An existing entry such as the stick can be replaced, and the new value is then used wherever the registry is read.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
How it compares
Registed is a server-side only option under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, with files for 1.20 – 1.20.2 on Fabric and Quilt. Don't Register That is a mod that works on either side, and neither side needs it, under the MIT License, but its files cover only 1.20.1 on Fabric.

What the author says
A often unneeded, yet sometimes required feature, put into a library: Modifying registry elements at runtime. Not much explanation is needed for this library, other than if used improperly it can cause errors. Assuming you are overriding an item in the Items / Blocks class (ie, where Items.STICK would be located) the…
