Redstone Bits
by Shnupbups
Redstone Bits adds a small set of redstone utilities to Minecraft, including copper buttons, weighted pressure plates, analog lamps and redstone displays.
What it does
Copper Buttons stay pressed for different lengths of time depending on how oxidized they are. Waxed copper buttons keep their oxidation state permanently, in the same way as waxed copper blocks. Oxidation also changes the weighting of the added Medium Weighted Pressure Plates, which behave like the vanilla Light and Heavy Weighted Pressure Plates while sitting between them.
Analog Redstone Lamps emit light in proportion to the signal strength they receive, and Redstone Displays show the received strength as a number. The mod builds on vanilla blocks such as observers and pistons, so players can automate many tasks with contraptions made from them. It requires Fabric API and Cloth Config API, and it runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Files cover 1.18 – 1.20.3 for Fabric, and the latest build is 1.11.0 for 1.20.3, released 2023-12-05 under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, which makes it open source.
Key features
Oxidizing copper buttons
Copper buttons hold a signal for a duration that shortens or lengthens with their oxidation level.
Waxed copper retention
Waxed copper buttons keep their oxidation state indefinitely, so their timing stops changing.
Medium weighted pressure plates
A middle weight plate joins the light and heavy plates, and its weighting follows oxidation.
Analog redstone lamps
Lamps glow with a brightness matching the signal strength they receive, rather than only on or off.
Redstone displays
A display shows the signal strength it receives as a number, which helps with reading circuits.
