Ratatouille
by RAT
Players and mod authors who install doctor4t's mods need Ratatouille, a library that supplies shared rendering, cosmetics and sound utilities, plus the RAT Plushies.
What it does
Ratatouille provides shared code for doctor4t's mods and supporter cosmetics. It derives its rendering utilities from Lodestone, a library by Sammy, and it has shipped with a Lodestar component that was removed in the 1.21.1 builds. Fabric API is required, and the mod is published for Fabric and Quilt, with files for 1.20.1, 1.21.1 and 1.21.7.
The library is built for two groups: other mod authors who want to register custom armor, cosmetics, hit sounds or arm rendering without writing that code again, and players who run supporter cosmetics on a client or server. It is client and server, so both sides need it. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source, though its source code and issue tracker are public.
Key features
Custom model armor registration
A single call registers a new armor set that uses a custom model, with display conditions for helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots.
Cosmetics customization
A utility for supporter cosmetics that can also serve other cosmetic mods needing simple customization.
Item hit sounds and particles
Helpers that attach a custom hit sound and particle effect to an item.
First person arm rendering
An interface lets a feature renderer draw parts on the player's hand in first person view.
Three plush items
Rat Maid, Folly and Mauve are plush items; each one can be honked, and a noteblock placed on top plays its honk sound as the instrument.

Use cases
Adding custom armor
A mod author registers a model-based armor set in client initialization, reusing the armor template model the project provides.
Cosmetic mods
Cosmetic mods use the customization util to add simple per-player options without building their own system.
Who it’s for: Players who run doctor4t's mods and supporter cosmetics, and mod authors building armor, cosmetics or arm-rendering features on top of the same utilities.
How it compares
Nitrogen is client-side only, so only players install it, and it is published for Fabric alone, for 1.21.1 – 1.21.10. Emberfired works on both sides, with Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt files for 1.19.2 – 1.21.11, under All rights reserved. InterdimensionalLib is client and server, open source under the MIT License, and covers 1.21 – 1.21.1 on Fabric and Quilt.

What the author says
This util allows you to easily register new armor sets that use a custom model with a single method call (and that custom model as the game does need to know what you wish to render). Once you have finalized your model, you can export it with Blockbench: File -> Export -> Export Java Entity. Open the generated Java…
