With Random Misfits, a single tool can switch between axe, pickaxe, shovel and hoe modes, and several utility tools join the equipment set.

What it does

Random Misfits is a set of equipment and utility items. Its tools include a multitool that combines axe, pickaxe, shovel and hoe actions, a hammer and excavator that break a 3x3 area, and a lumberaxe that chops a configurable number of nearby blocks to fell whole trees. Crouching and right-clicking switches between the modes of the multitool and toggles felling mode on the lumberaxe. A glass cutter breaks glass blocks and panes quickly without needing Silk Touch.

Armor and maintenance items round out the set. Invisible armor gives protection while keeping the skin visible. A handle is used to craft tools that need a fuel. A repair kit restores a configurable amount of durability to an item in the other hand when right-clicked, and a crafting plate is a portable item that opens a crafting table menu from the hotbar or inventory.

A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, across 30 release versions in the 1.18 – 26.3 range. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source. Public links exist for the source code and the issue tracker.
