Random Drops
by xknkqx
Random Drops turns each block a player breaks into a random reward, assigned once per block type for the rest of the session.
What it does
The first time a block type is broken, it is paired with one result that never changes until the drop table is reset. Depending on a configurable chance, the result is either an item or a mob, and the mob pool includes bosses such as the Wither and the Ender Dragon. The number of items or mobs a block gives is also adjustable, with a random amount up to a chosen maximum.
The mod is off by default, so a world plays as normal vanilla until a player types rd start. Typing rd stop or rd start again changes the state, and a session can be ended at any time to return to normal play. Joining a world or server starts with Random Drops disabled, which keeps installed copies from affecting ordinary worlds. Running rd start enables the randomizer, and rd reset clears the block-to-drop mappings and refills the item and mob pool so everything re-rolls.
Random Drops is a Fabric mod for 1.21.10, published under the MIT License as open source. Both the server and every player need it, because the randomized rewards are applied on the server and seen by the clients.
Key features
Random block rewards
Breaking a block for the first time gives it a permanent reward that is reused for every later break of that block type.
Mob or item chance
A configurable setting controls how often a block becomes a mob instead of an item, with the item chance set to 100 by default.
Adjustable drop amounts
Server owners can set how many items or mobs each block gives, with a random amount up to a chosen maximum.
Boss pool
The mob pool includes bosses such as the Wither and the Ender Dragon, so one broken block can summon several of them.
Reset command
A reset clears all block-to-drop mappings and refills the pool, so every block re-rolls its reward on the next break.

RandomDrops turns Minecraft into a chaotic randomizer challenge – when you want it to. By default, the mod is off so you can play normal vanilla. Type /rd_start to begin the chaos, and /rd_stop to go back to normal at any time. Once a block gets its reward, it never changes until you reset all drops. If dirt spawns 5…
