Rainy Glass

by Eriyasansan

Rainy Glass adds realistic rain-streaked pixel glass panes and two new decorative blocks for building on Fabric in version 1.20.1.

FabricClient and serverMIT License1.20.1

What it does

Two new decorative blocks are added, each a glass block with a rain effect on its surface. Each block's texture is drawn in pixel style, so the rain streaks match the look of the rest of the game. A new glass pane style is included, giving builders a matching panel option for windows and walls.

The mod works in both single-player and multiplayer, and it changes how rain appears on the new glass. Shader packs are needed for the rain to show, and Bliss Shaders and Iris Shaders are named as requirements. Fabric API must also be installed, since the mod runs on it.

Rainy Glass is published for Fabric only, with its latest file, 1.2.2, dated 2025-03-29, for 1.20.1. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. The code is under the MIT License, but the project is not open source in the sense of publishing its full source for community contribution.

Key features

  1. Rain-streaked glass blocks

Two decorative glass blocks carry a pixel-style rain texture, which shows on the surface of the blocks.

  2. Glass pane style

A new glass pane style lets builders place rain-streaked panels alongside the vanilla glass pane.

  3. Shader-dependent rain

The rain effect appears through a shader pack, so the glass looks different when Bliss Shaders or Iris Shaders is active.
