Radon

by Asek3

Radon is a Forge optimization mod that reduces the time the game spends generating new chunks and smooths out client-side frame stutters caused by chunk loading.

ForgeClient or server, optionalGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.16.5 – 1.19.4

What it does

Radon targets chunk generation and chunk loading on the client. Players in single-player worlds and on large multiplayer servers can see less time spent producing new chunks, and fewer frame drops when terrain loads. The mod is an unofficial fork adapted to run with FML. It leaves the game's existing features untouched, so gameplay stays as it is. Either side can run it, and neither needs it.

Key features

  1. Faster chunk generation

Chunk generation takes less time, so new terrain appears sooner while exploring.

  2. Fewer loading stutters

Frame stutters that come from loading chunks on the client are reduced or removed.

  3. No gameplay changes

Features and behaviors of vanilla Minecraft are left as they are.

What the author says

With Radon, the amount of time the game takes to generate new chunks can be greatly reduced, and you can expect to see some of the nastier frame stutters caused by loading chunks on the client simply vanish. It's a no-compromises solution for improving performance either in single-player or large multi-player…
