Alexy's Radiation Lib

by AstralOreo

Alexy's Radiation Lib is a Forge library for 1.20.1 that adds a configurable radiation system inspired by the STALKER and Stalcraft games, with zones, emissions and dose tracking.

ForgeClient and serverMIT License1.20.1

What it does

Radiation is handled by the mod's engine, which tracks zones, emissions and the dose a player accumulates. Zones are synchronized to clients automatically in multiplayer, and damage is decided by the server, so the server stays authoritative over what a player receives. Commands let admins manage zones, bunkers, emissions and doses.

The mod exposes a KubeJS API facade with events for emission phases, death by radiation and zone entry and exit. Scripts can change loot, quests, automatic emissions and zone gating, and balance values are left to the config. Curios API is required, so install it alongside the library on Forge 1.20.1, and KubeJS is optional for scripting.

Alexy's Radiation Lib runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Forge 1.20.1 only, and the code is licensed under the MIT License, which means it is not open source.

Key features

  1. Configurable radiation system

A radiation engine with zones and damage that can be tuned through the config file to suit a modded server.

  2. Server-authoritative damage

The server decides radiation damage and syncs zone state to clients, so multiplayer players see the same zones.

  3. KubeJS scripting hooks

Events for emission phases, radiation death and zone enter and exit let scripts change loot, quests and zone gating.

  4. Admin commands

Commands manage zones, bunkers, emissions and doses, and players can press ALT+Z to view the zone they are in.

What the author says

RadioLib is a STALKER/Stalcraft-inspired radiation system for Forge 1.20.1. It is not plug-and-play: it needs configuring, and is aimed at server admins who want a radiation system on a modded server. The mod is the engine (radiation, zones, damage, sync); the content (loot, quests, balance) is left to you, via…
