PvPCore
by AllanStrat
PvPCore lets players mark other players as friends, allies or enemies, with colored nameplates and tab-list names so teams can tell them apart in a fight.
What it does
Markers are stored in a local JSON file on the player's own machine, so the friend and enemy list keeps working even when a backend is offline. Clan member lists can be imported in one step into the same local database, and individual players can be marked by hand. Targeting is faster through middle-click, where a middle click toggles a friend or ally and a shift with middle click toggles an enemy.
The mod also carries team communication through its own chat channels. Messages sent to a clan channel reach only clan members, but that channel stays closed until a clan token is entered in the settings. Chat interception can be set to disabled, in which case messages go through normal Minecraft chat. After a token is generated the log and a clan console show the channel activity.
PvPCore runs on the client only, so players install it and servers do not need it. It is published for Fabric across 8 release versions, 1.21.1 – 26.3, and is released under the MIT License without being open source. Its team features are designed around the PvP situation, so the mod is used mainly on servers that already have a clan structure.
Key features
Colored friend and enemy tags
Friends, allies and enemies get distinct colored tags in nameplates and the tab list, so the state of each player is visible at a glance.
Local friend and enemy database
A JSON file keeps every marking on the player's machine, so the list stays available without the backend.
Clan member import
A full clan member list can be imported into the local database rather than entered one player at a time.
Middle-click targeting
Middle click toggles friend or ally status, and shift with middle click toggles enemy status, which speeds up marking during play.
Glow effect for allies and enemies
The native Minecraft glow effect marks allied and enemy players, so they stand out in the world.

How it compares
Sengoku Clan Gestionary is server-side only, under All rights reserved, and covers 1.21.1 – 1.21.11 on Fabric, so it runs on the server rather than on the player's side. SimpleClans is also server-side only and all rights reserved, with files for 26.2 alone. Better Local Chat is server-side only and MIT licensed for 1.21 – 26.3, a different environment from PvPCore's client-side install.
