PVP essentials Refined

by FronoBear

Players who fight in close combat get a fixed, configurable HUD from PVP Essentials Refined, a Fabric mod that covers the combat screen for 1.21.10 – 1.21.11.

What it does

The mod draws a combat HUD with FPS readout, equipped armor, status effect timers, and crosshair feedback that turns red when aimed at an entity's hitbox. Four combat HUD layouts are available, and the HUD position, orientation, and scale can be adjusted. Screen anchoring stays fixed in both fullscreen and windowed modes, so elements do not shift when the window changes size.

Client-side logic is tuned for End Crystals and Respawn Anchors, which reduces calculations during PvP fights. Ender Pearls and arrows are counted by type, and Golden Apples are split into regular and magical forms. Settings can be imported, exported, and changed through a config screen or Mod Menu, and the mod is built to avoid GUI conflicts with other PvP mods.

PVP Essentials Refined is published for Fabric and is client-side only, so servers need nothing and it is safe to use on multiplayer servers. It requires Armor HUD Built-In for the equipped armor display. The code is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Combat HUD layouts

Four layouts can be chosen, and the HUD can be moved and scaled to suit the player's screen.

  2. Crosshair feedback

The crosshair turns red when it is aligned with an entity hitbox, confirming aim before a hit.

  3. Status effect timers

Active effects show their remaining time on the HUD, applied in real time without a restart.

  4. Config import and export

Settings can be saved to a file, loaded again, and edited from a config screen or Mod Menu.

  5. Fixed screen anchoring

HUD elements stay in fixed positions across fullscreen and windowed modes, with stable resolutions and aspect ratios.

Crystal Insight is a client-side only Fabric mod for 1.21.11 under All rights reserved, and it is not open source. PVP Optimizer requires the client, with the server optional, and ships under the MIT License for 1.21.1 – 1.21.11, but it is not open source. PvpHud is client-side only, open source under the MIT License, and covers 1.21 – 1.21.5, so it does not reach the latest builds this mod targets.
