Purple Infection Mod

by dianaaao

Purple Infection Mod adds an infected purple biome, a multi-phase boss fight and a set of crystal weapons and armor for Fabric on 1.20.1.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1

What it does

Players travel into an infected biome where ores, vegetation and surface terrain differ from vanilla. Mutated versions of zombies, skeletons and creepers roam there alongside original creatures. Spores infect anyone who stays among the mushrooms too long, and the Respirator armor is the only protection against infection while exploring these areas.

The story centers on an ancient crystal that once protected the lands and now sends a signal during a spore rain. Its fragments are gathered to fight the Rotting Spore Fungus, a boss that gains health and summons minions across several phases and fires spore volleys. Once the boss falls, its fragments can be crafted into new weapons and armor, while a hand-built crypt-castle dungeon holds the key items tied to the story. A tamed custom mushroom pet is another reward for defeating bosses.

The mod requires Cardinal Components API, Fabric API, Geckolib and TerraBlender, and it is open source under the MIT License. Files are published for Fabric only, for 1.20.1, and the mod runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it.
