Psionic Utilities is a client-side addon for Psi that makes spell programming in its pieces faster to read and edit.

What it does

Psionic Utilities adds visual aids to Psi spell programming. Connectors between spell pieces are color coded by type, the number constant editor is improved, and the psi cost of a spell is shown in colors that mark how sustainable or dangerous it is. A shift and arrow combination inserts cross connectors, and a configuration panel with buttons lets players adjust its behavior in the game options.

The mod requires Psi and makes no sense without it, because every feature works on Psi's spell pieces. Phi is optional and is not needed to run it. Psionic Utilities is client-side only, so servers do not need it and players can join a server running Psi without installing it. Files exist for Forge and NeoForge across 8 release versions, 1.16.3 – 1.21.1, and the code is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only.

    Connectors between spell pieces are colored by their type, so a program's flow is easier to follow at a glance.

    The psi cost of a spell is colored by how sustainable or dangerous it is, shown while the spell is being built.

    Editing a number constant in a spell is simpler, with clearer controls than the default editor.

  4. Cross connectors with shift and arrow

    Holding shift with an arrow key inserts a cross connector into the spell layout.

  5. Configuration panel buttons

    A panel of buttons in the game options lets players change how the addon's visual aids behave.
