Project Niflheim is a Fabric mod that adds a Norse-inspired dimension called Niflheim, reached through a portal built from a Nether Portal frame.
What it does
Niflheim is a new dimension inspired by Norse mythology. Players build its portal frame like a Nether portal and light it with a Powder Snow Bucket. The mod also brings new types of weapons, magic, mobs and dungeons into the dimension and the surrounding world.
Abilities include summoning up to two Niflheim Hounds or three Unarmed Skeletons, lightning magic, and a ranged projectile attack that deals Wither damage. A self regeneration effect restores 50% health, and a self fall damage nullification ability removes the risk of falls. Vanilla monsters such as Strays, Husks, Parched and Skeleton Horses are also part of the content.
Project Niflheim is a standalone project, with no formal affiliation to other Niflheim mods. It requires Fabric API, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it. The code is released under the Apache License 2.0, and the project is not open source. Builds cover 26.1.1 and 26.1.2, with 7.1.0-release for 26.1.2 as the latest file.
