pquality
by petrolpark
pquality is a Forge and NeoForge library mod that gives most items a quality level, with each level raising their stats to a different degree.
What it does
Items that carry a quality level get stronger: weapons deal more damage, tools dig faster, armor gives more protection, and items gain durability. Food restores more hunger and saturation, and its effects last longer and trigger more often. Potions last longer, fuels burn longer, anvil repair materials restore more durability, and Firework Rockets carry Elytra further. Villagers offer more items and grant more experience. Quality also affects most of the other attributes an item has.
The default levels are Bronze at +10% to most stats, Silver at +25%, Gold at +50%, Diamond at +75% and Netherite at +100%. A datapack can define other levels. Most vanilla items cannot be placed in the system by default, so a server owner adds items to the quality system by giving them the petrolpark:flaggable item tag. The system is generic and works with other mods' items as well. Installation needs Petrolpark's Library, which is required, and Create is an optional dependency. The mod runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it, and it is published for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. Snapshot builds are not published.
Key features
Quality levels for items
Items are assigned a quality level, and each level scales the stats of the item it belongs to.
Stat changes by item type
Weapons, tools, armor, food, potions, fuels and rockets each change in their own way when upgraded.
Datapack configuration
Quality levels and the items they apply to are set through datapacks, and the mod's options can be turned off individually.
Quality icons on demand
A config option shows quality icons only while the player holds Shift, keeping item tooltips short otherwise.

What the author says
pquality adds a system of item quality similar to Factorio: Space Age or Stardew Valley. By default, most vanilla items that can't be placed can have quality, but the system is completely generic. Add quality to items by adding them to the petrolpark:flaggable item tag.
