Potions and Stuff

by tomandoawa

Potions and Stuff remakes a set of brewable potions for Forge 1.20.1, adding new effects that pull, push or morph nearby mobs.

ForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

Brewing recipes gain new ingredients such as echo shards, command blocks, wither roses, suspicious stew and cacti. Some effects change how mobs behave: one morphs most mobs into harmless creatures, another pulls nearby entities toward the affected entity, and another pushes them away. A potion can also teleport a player to spawn once its effect runs out, halt natural regeneration, or increase experience gained and dropped by mobs.

The Fletching Table can combine ingredients to make dipped, explosive and spectral arrows. A new mob called the Dabbler spawns in caves below y32, rarely, and at times tosses beneficial lingering potions to nearby players. The Dabbler becomes angry when hit and drops a Potion bundle when killed, and it can also be bartered with using nether wart.

The mod is a from-scratch remake of an earlier potion mod, rebuilt for Forge 1.20.1 without copying the original code. The author made it to avoid needing connector modpacks for a single mod. The release is for 1.20.1 only, the latest Forge file is 1.1.2, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it. The code is under All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source.

Key features

  1. Pulling and pushing potions

Two potion effects move nearby entities, one toward the affected entity and one away from it.

  2. Mob morphing

A potion turns most mobs into harmless creatures for the duration of its effect.

  3. Ingredient recipes

Brewing uses echo shards, command blocks, wither roses, suspicious stew and cacti as ingredients.

  4. Fletching Table arrows

The Fletching Table makes dipped, explosive and spectral arrows, and combines them in further ways.

What the author says

This is an remake of the mod I remade this mod from the ground up for Forge 1.20.1 without copying any of the original code. The purpose of this remake is to avoid using a connector in all my modpacks just for one mod. The Fletching Table now works, and it allows you to make dipped arrows, explosive arrows and…
