Potion+ adds several new potions to NeoForge 1.21.1, each with its own effect and a crafting recipe built from vanilla ingredients.

NeoForgeClient and serverMIT License1.21.1

What it does

The new potions are made by brewing existing bottles with ingredients such as soul sand, glowstone dust, iron ingots, a golden pickaxe, a ghast tear and a honeycomb. Each recipe produces a potion whose effect is listed in the mod's own set, including Decay, Decay II, Wither, Wither II, Defence, Frenzy, Grind, Corruption, Endurance, Blazing Gamble and a combined Fire Resistance, Luck and Mining Fatigue effect. Several effects combine two or more vanilla effects in one bottle, so the potions give players choices beyond the standard brewing list.

Potion+ is published for NeoForge only, with a single release for 1.21.1 (version 1.1.1, dated 2025-04-05). The first build came out on 2025-01-21. Installation covers the server and each player's game. The code is released under the MIT License, but the project is not open source. The mod uses JEI to show its recipes in-game, and the Enough Items mod is listed in the author notes as recommended for finding them.

Key features

  1. Effect potions

Potions such as Decay, Wither and Corruption apply effects that the vanilla brewing list does not offer.

  2. Combined effects

Some potions merge two or more vanilla effects, such as Strength III with Nausea II, into a single bottle.

  3. Vanilla-ingredient recipes

Each potion is brewed from items already in the game, including soul sand, glowstone dust and honeycomb.

  4. Recipe lookup

The recipes can be viewed in-game through JEI, which the author recommends alongside Enough Items.
