Port-a-Chest lets players carry chests on their back, with portable chests, large chests and ender chests worn in a dedicated back slot.
What it does
Port-a-Chest adds backpacks that fit the vanilla game. Players craft a portable chest, a portable large chest or a portable ender chest, then equip it in the chest slot, which is the back trinket slot. Making a portable chest needs two leather plus a single chest, and a portable large chest comes from setting a second chest directly above or beneath the first. An existing portable chest can be extended into a large chest without losing its items.
Hovering over a portable chest and holding Left Shift shows a preview of its contents, so players can check what they carry without opening it. The server and every player need the mod installed. It requires Fabric for the 1.20.1 game version, where the latest file is 1.0.0, published on 2025-01-09. Its code is open source under the MIT License, and the source code and issue tracker are public.
