Beans Backpacks (Legacy)
by BeansGalaxy
Players who want more carrying room can equip Beans Backpacks, a Fabric and Forge mod that adds a Back Slot and several kinds of backpack for the inventory.
What it does
The mod adds a Back Slot to the inventory screen. A backpack placed there stores items on top of it and shows on the player's back, where other players can see it. A loaded backpack cannot be removed until it is set down in the world with Sprint and right click, and interacting with it opens the items inside. New items are placed at the top of the stored stack, and hovering over an equipped backpack previews its contents.
Several backpack types are included. Leather backpacks can be dyed any color, as leather armor can. Metal backpacks can be trimmed at a smithing table, or upgraded with an Upgrade Template into a larger, fireproof Netherite backpack. Ender backpacks share one global inventory per bound player, and the owner can craft extras so other players reach the same storage. Winged backpacks let the player use elytra while wearing one. Decorated pots and cauldrons can also be worn, holding 128 stacks of one item type and 24 buckets of any fluid respectively, and they can only be removed once emptied.
Installation runs on Fabric and on Forge. Only the server and players need the mod to be present on both sides, so every participant installs it. Files are published for 1.20.1 and 1.20.2, with 2.0.2 as the latest file for 1.20.1 on both loaders. The code is open source under the MIT License.

Vanilla Backpack is open source under the MIT License, runs on Forge for 1.20.1, and is client and server.
