Pepeland Badges
by p4pingvin4ik
Pepeland Badges shows server-issued player badges as prefixes and suffixes in the Tab list and above each player's head in the world.
What it does
The mod is a client-side display layer. It reads the badge text that a server attaches to each player and renders it as a prefix or suffix next to that player's name, in the Tab player list and above the player's head in the world. Players see other players' badges without installing anything on the server.
Formatting is kept as the server sent it. Colors, bold and italic styles from the badge text stay intact when the mod draws them, so a badge set up by a server appears as its author designed it. Because only the client needs the mod, a player can join any server that supports these badges with the same mod installed locally.
Files target Fabric only, for 1.21.8 and 26.2. The latest build is 1.2.1 for 26.2, published on 2026-08-09. The code is open source under the MIT License, with a public source repository and an issue tracker.
Key features
Badge display
Prefixes and suffixes appear in the Tab list and above the head of the player they belong to.
Nearby name tags
Badges show over the nicknames of players in the world, so badges can be read without opening the Tab list.
Formatting preservation
Original colors, bold and italic styles of each badge are kept when the text is drawn on screen.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Servers with ranked badges
A server that marks staff, builders or event winners with badges can show them to every player who runs the mod.
Role-play communities
Titles and ranks written as badge text stay visible on the names of the players who hold them.
Who it’s for: Players who join servers that attach badges to player names, and server owners who want those badges visible on the client. Server owners do not need to install anything for the display to work.
How it compares
CobblemonBadges is a Fabric mod for 1.21.1 – 1.21.4 that needs both client and server, and it is released under the MIT License. Chroma Names is a Fabric mod for 1.21.1 – 26.3 that is optional on either side and is released under All rights reserved. MMCZ is client-side only and covers just 1.19.2 under the MIT OR Apache-2.0 terms, so it does not reach the versions Pepeland Badges targets.
