Particle Interactions Forgified

by seymourimadeit

Particle Interactions Forgified adds block break, placement and sprint particles, with a particle set that depends on the kind of block the player touches.

FabricForgeClient required, server optionalCreative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.01.20.1

What it does

Block particles change with the block involved. Breaking or placing a block, and sprinting across certain blocks, produce particles tied to that material, so snow, cherry leaves, fireflies, azalea and many vanilla plants each have their own effect. Flower and vine blocks, including modded flowers, also get a dedicated particle set, and the mod lists which overrides it applies.

The mod is a client-side effect layer. The player's client needs it installed, while the server can add it for extra features but does not have to run it, and a server that lacks it simply shows the vanilla particles. Players who join a server are not affected by the mod's particles on other players' screens, so the extra effects are limited to the local game view. Particle Interactions Forgified requires YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) on Fabric and Forge, and it is published only for 1.20.1, with files dated 2025-07-22. The code is not open source, and the work is distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.0 license.

Key features

  1. Block break and placement particles

Breaking or placing certain blocks produces particles matched to the material, instead of the default vanilla effect.

  2. Sprint particles on blocks

Sprinting across snow, leaves, petals and similar blocks creates particles that reflect the surface underfoot.

  3. Vegetation particle sets

Leaves, saplings, flowers, vines and bushes each receive a particle set, including a generic option for other leaf blocks.

  4. Configurable overrides

A full list of block particle overrides can be adjusted, so players can choose which blocks get the extra effects.

Use cases

Decorated survival builds

Players who build with flowers, leaves and snow can see more distinct effects while crossing their bases.

Who it’s for: Players who want visual detail on their own client. Server owners do not need to add the mod for their players to see the effects, since the effects are local.

Questions

Does Particle Interactions Forgified need to be installed on the server?

No. Only the player's client has to run the mod, and it works on a server that leaves it out, so the server side is optional.

Which loaders does Particle Interactions Forgified support?

The mod is published for Fabric and Forge, with files for 1.20.1. Both loaders require YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) to be installed alongside it.

The mod aims to be as configurable as possible and doesn't need to be installed on the server! This mod is fully client side, however, a few particles added by the mod won't spawn when other players use…
