Parley
by Sl0oth_
Parley is a client-side Fabric chat translator that reads incoming messages in any language and can send translated replies back to the server.
What it does
Parley translates player chat whatever language is set, and it can also translate server messages such as broadcasts, tellraw output, death messages and action bar text. Translations replace the original line rather than appearing as a second line beneath it, and the message order is kept, so translated text does not arrive seconds later in the chat. Default translation uses Google Translate, and DeepL and LibreTranslate can be selected when a player wants them. A prefix typed before a message sends only the translation, and the server prefix, username colors and normal chat formatting remain in place. A globe marks the language the message is believed to come from.
Parley runs on the client alone, so other players and the server do not need it. Translation can be switched off for a single server, set to always or never for one player, and adjusted through the settings screen. Cloth Config is optional and only makes the settings easier to use. When a translation takes too long or fails, the original message stays visible and nothing disappears. Parley is open source under the MIT License and is published for Fabric, with files for 26.1, 26.1.1 and 26.1.2, where 1.0.1 for 26.1.2 is the latest.
