Online Displays
by Zeith
Online Displays lets players place image blocks in the world, with each display positioned, rotated and scaled to the exact size needed.
What it does
The mod adds one block, the Display, which shows an image on its face. Builders can set its position, rotation and scale so the picture sits exactly where it is wanted and can be seen from the intended angle. Lighting is turned off for the image, so it renders as emissive and stays readable in dark areas.
The Display accepts common image formats, including JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF. GIF animation is only partly supported, and some GIFs with specific encoding show visual artifacts. The mod is intended for Creative Mode building and is used in Survival Mode worlds as well, and it is published for Forge and NeoForge across six release versions, 1.16.5 – 1.21.1. It requires HammerLib to run, and both the server and every player need the mod, since the environment is client and server. The code is not open source, and the mod is released under All rights reserved, with public links to the source code and issue tracker.
Key features
Image display block
A single block shows an image on its surface, and the picture can be placed anywhere a block fits.
Position, rotation and scale
Each display can be adjusted in position, rotation and scale to match the spot it occupies.
Emissive lighting
Lighting is disabled for the image, so the picture stays visible in shadowed areas of a build.
Common image formats
JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF files can be shown, though GIFs with unusual encoding may display artifacts.

Use cases
Signs and posters
Builders place pictures on walls, shop fronts and street scenes that need a specific image at a set size.
Screens and monitors
A display can serve as a screen in a control room, lobby or showcase build, with its angle set so it is visible from the usual viewpoint.
Who it’s for: Builders who want custom pictures in a world, and server owners hosting build projects where images need to be shown at exact positions.
How it compares
