OmniCut: Better Wood, Copper, and Stone Cutter
by meenimc
Stonecutter, Woodcutter and copper cutting recipes gain new conversions in OmniCut: Better Wood, Copper, and Stone Cutter, a server-side datapack from meenimc.
What it does
The datapack expands the Stonecutter block so it cuts wood logs and wood items, cut and oxidized copper doors, bars, rods, chains and trapdoors, and converts stone and deepslate blocks. Stonecutter conversions also run in reverse, so a cut block such as polished andesite stairs returns to its original andesite form. Polished, smooth and cracked stone variants still reach their base block only through a furnace.
Either the Stonecutter or the crafting table can break wood products back down, turning doors, planks, slabs and sticks into lower-tier materials. Slabs placed side by side horizontally can be reassembled into full blocks at the crafting table. Recycling and cut prices are set by the server and adjusted with discounts, so a recycled wood item can yield more planks or sticks than it cost to craft. The mod works on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 1.18 – 26.2, and snapshot builds are also published.
Installation needs only the server, because the environment is server required with client optional. OmniCut is not open source and is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0 license. Source code and an issue tracker are public.
Key features
Stonecutter wood conversions
Logs and wood items can be cut at the Stonecutter, covering shelves and wood types including Pale Oak, Bamboo, Cherry and Mangrove.
Copper cutting
Cut copper variants, stairs and slabs are generated, and oxidized waxed doors, trapdoors, bars, rods and chains can be converted.
Deepslate and stone conversions
Deepslate blocks yield cobbled deepslate outputs, and cut stone blocks revert to their original form.
Recycling and reassembly
Stone, wood and copper products can be recycled back to base blocks, and slabs can be reassembled into full blocks.
Adjustable item prices
Item pricing and minor discounts are set by the server, so recycling costs can be tuned per world.
