OldCraftAllow brings back crafting recipes and content that were removed from later Minecraft versions, and adds a few new items for the current game.

What it does

The mod restores classic crafting recipes, including the Enchanted Golden Apple and chainmail armor, along with saddles and horse armor for horses. Several items that disappeared from the game, such as the Grassless Dirt block, can be obtained again, and new items like the Ruby and Ruby Ore are added. Legacy features such as pre-1.14 dungeon generation and older village layouts can be switched on or off in the config file.

Fabric API is required on Fabric, and Quilted Fabric API (QFAPI) or Quilt Standard Libraries (QSL) is required on Quilt. Architectury API and Cloth Config API are optional. Forge Config API Port is bundled inside the mod. The server must run the mod, while players may leave it out. It is released under the MIT License and is open source, with 17 release versions covering 1.14.4 – 26.1.2. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and a data pack build is available as well.

Installation means placing the jar in the mods folder and then adjusting the config file after the first launch. Recipe conflicts can appear when several mods add the same crafting recipes, such as the Enchanted Golden Apple, so the author suggests checking recipes when combining mods that restore legacy items. Compatibility notes list the other removed content that the mod restores.

Which loader should be used with OldCraftAllow?

Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt are all supported. Quilt users need QFAPI or QSL, while Fabric users need Fabric API.

Does OldCraftAllow have to be installed on the client?

No. Only the server needs the mod for the restored recipes to apply, and players may leave it out.
