Oceanic
by Galeboy
Oceanic changes the ocean biomes of a world, so fishing there yields new fish, food and items, and it is installed on the server.
What it does
Oceanic overhauls the fishing in Minecraft's oceans. Fishing in many different biomes lets players catch new, interesting fish, and some fish appear in the same biomes as deep-diving mobs, which leads to finds beyond the fish. A world affected by sudden unnatural changes is the setting, with reality leaking into the oceans. Near beaches, villagers called anglers offer trades that exchange caught fish for items of higher value.
The mod adds 10 new fish, 25 new items, three music discs, custom food items, a loot bag, a message bottle that carries a random message, and spawn eggs for single mobs. Some grilled fish give special effects, while others act as ordinary food. A guide book is handed out early and explains the most important information. A custom advancement tree comes with a few secret advancements. Mushroom stew and grilled crab legs are among the food, and the loot bag keeps the guide book after the first one is lost.
The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and Quilt, with the server required and the client optional, and it is distributed under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. Builds cover 1.19.4 – 1.20.1 across 3 release versions. A data pack variant exists for servers that want the content without a loader.
