Occasional Flashbang
by liqw
Occasional Flashbang is a client-side Fabric mod that adds a sudden full-screen white-out with a high-pitched ringing sound, as a deliberately unwanted joke feature.
What it does
Occasional Flashbang triggers a total screen-melting white-out at random moments, followed by a high-pitched ringing that lingers in the ears. The effect is meant as a prank and has no gameplay purpose. Only the client needs the mod, so servers run without it and players can join a server without installing anything.
The mod is published for Fabric only, with a single supported game version, 1.21.11. The latest Fabric file is 1.2.0, released on 2026-02-22, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Random white-out
The screen turns fully white at unpredictable intervals, hiding the game view for a moment.
Ringing sound
A high-pitched ringing plays after each flash, mimicking the aftereffect of a real flashbang.
Client-side prank
The effect runs only on the player's own game, so it changes nothing for other players or the server.
