VNDialog
by YourZi
VNDialog presents visual-novel-style dialogue in Minecraft, with character portraits standing on screen while the conversation plays out.
What it does
Conversations appear as a dialogue screen, and several characters can be shown standing at once with a simple entrance animation. Dialogue can branch into player-chosen options, and dialogue can be started by commands tied to in-game events, so a scripted scene can follow a quest or an interaction. Dialogue configurations can be hot-loaded from datapacks, which lets a pack author write a longer storyline without changing Java code.
The mod is a lightweight library: it only supplies the dialogue system and leaves the story itself to the world or pack that uses it. Visual Mod Edit-VNDialog requires it, and that companion relies on the same dialogue framework. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, for 1.20.1, 1.21 and 1.21.1, and the code is open source under the MIT License. The source code and issue tracker are linked from the project page for anyone who needs more detail than this card gives.

Use cases
Scripted quest scenes
A datapack can attach a dialogue to a quest step, so a conversation plays when the player reaches it.
Story-driven servers
A server owner can run an ongoing storyline whose dialogue changes with the choices players make.
Who it’s for: Datapack authors and server owners who want character conversations inside a Minecraft world. Players only see the result, so the mod is aimed at people building the content.
