NuclearCraft: Overhauled

by tomdodd4598

NuclearCraft: Overhauled adds nuclear engineering to Forge 1.12.2, with multiblock fission reactors, steam turbines and a deep nuclear fuel system.

ForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.12.2

What it does

The mod centers on intricate multiblock fission reactors and steam turbines, built from components that players assemble in the world. A nuclear fuel system covers many fuel types, and a Fallout-style radiation system adds a hazard layer to the process. Recipes can be changed with CraftTweaker, and Mekanism gas handling is supported.

Energy from machines can be exchanged with Forge Energy (RF), IC2 EU and GregTech CE EU, and Full JEI compatibility lets players look up recipes in-game. The mod also brings more materials, weapons, tools and armour. Its overhaul version is compatible with the pre-overhaul version of the original content, and switching one option makes most of its content mutate or disappear.

Files target Forge for 1.12.2 only. NuclearCraft: Overhauled is open source under the MIT License and runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Its latest file, 2o.9.0, was published on 2025-05-26 on the beta channel.

Key features

  1. Multiblock fission reactors

Reactors are assembled from several blocks and produce power from the fuel loaded into them.

  2. Steam turbines

Turbines are multiblock machines that convert steam into energy for the rest of the setup.

  3. Many nuclear fuel types

A fuel system with a wide set of fuel types gives each reactor a different output and waste profile.

  4. Fallout-style radiation

Radiation is tracked as a hazard in the world, so shielding and handling affect the player's safety.
