NoMorePowder
by SwordfishBE
NoMorePowder stops powder snow from appearing in generated terrain by swapping it for regular snow during world generation, so mountain slopes look unchanged while the sinking hazard is gone.
What it does
Powder snow normally generates in frozen biomes such as Frozen Peaks, Snowy Slopes and Grove, and it is placed through the surface rule system. Before a powder snow block is written into the terrain, NoMorePowder swaps it for a standard snow block during world generation, so the ground looks the same but holds no hidden fall. The result is that the landscape looks identical, but the ground no longer swallows a player who steps onto it.
The replacement happens once, at world generation time, so nothing needs to run afterward. Trial chamber powder snow is not affected, because it is placed through structure template files after terrain generation and never goes through the surface rules. The mod requires Fabric API, has no configuration files or commands, and is server-side only, so players join without installing it. Files target 26.3 and cover 1.21.11 – 26.3.
Key features
Replaces powder snow at generation
Naturally spawned powder snow is swapped for regular snow before it is placed in the terrain.
Terrain looks unchanged
Frozen mountain biomes keep their snowy appearance, and the surface shape is not altered by the replacement.
No runtime processing
The change happens once during world generation, with no overhead while the game is running and no config files or commands to set up.
Players walk on solid snow
Ground that looked solid no longer sinks players, and the slow freeze warning is no longer triggered by natural powder snow.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Players and server owners who want frozen mountain biomes to keep their look while removing the powder snow hazard. Only newly generated terrain is affected, so existing chunks keep their powder snow.
How it compares

More Snow is open source under the CC0 1.0 Universal license for 1.21.1, but it needs the client and server together.

What the author says
You're sprinting across a snowy mountain, the landscape looks solid and safe — and then you sink. Powder snow: invisible, silent, and one of Minecraft's most frustrating terrain hazards. No warning, no indication, just a slow freeze creeping up your health bar. NoMorePowder fixes this at the root. Instead of patching…
