Night Lights
by Joo5h
With Night Lights, players can place a range of decorative light sources, from fairy lights to night lights, in their builds.
What it does
The mod adds a set of decorative light blocks to the game. Its description names fairy lights and night lights among them, so the variety is aimed at interior and exterior lighting rather than new gameplay systems. Players place the lights as ordinary blocks and use them in any build.
Night Lights needs no other mod to run, but Polymer Patch for Night Lights is listed as requiring it. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Builds are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 17 release versions, 1.18.2 – 26.1, and the code is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, making it open source. Snapshot builds are published as well.

Use cases
Building interiors
Lights in different styles let builders set the mood of a room without relying only on vanilla lighting blocks.
Exterior decoration
Fairy-light style blocks can outline paths, gardens or facades in a build.
Who it’s for: Builders and decorators who want more lighting styles than vanilla Minecraft provides. Server owners also benefit, since the server needs the mod installed alongside players.
How it compares
NightyLighty is a Fabric-only option for 1.21.1, open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and it shares the client and server environment with Night Lights. Decorative Entities runs on Forge and NeoForge for 1.18 – 26.2, is released under All rights reserved and is not open source. InvisibleLights covers Forge and NeoForge for 1.12.2 – 26.3 under the Apache License 2.0 and is open source.
