New Guns adds firearms to Minecraft, with right-click shooting, reloading from ammunition and zoom controls.

What it does

Players hold a gun and right-click to shoot. Reloading uses the R key and needs bullets in the inventory, and a full magazine is filled from a pack of bullets. Z zooms slightly while still allowing movement, and X zooms further. Custom animations play for the weapons.

The mod runs on Forge for 1.20.1 only, and both the server and every player need it. It is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and its source code is public.

  1. Right-click shooting

    A held gun fires on right-click, so combat follows the standard use input.

  2. Magazine reloading

    The R key reloads a magazine from bullets in the inventory, and a pack of bullets fills a full magazine.

  3. Zoom controls

    Z gives a slight zoom that keeps movement open, and X gives a stronger zoom.
