Nameplate

by Globox1997

With Nameplate installed, the health of each mob decides the level shown above it, so a player can read how tough a creature is at a glance.

What it does

Nameplate reads the health of each mob and displays a level derived from it. The mod is a Fabric build, and it runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files cover 1.19.2, 1.20, 1.20.1, 1.20.6, 1.21 and 1.21.1, with 1.1.7+1.21.1 for 1.21.1 as the latest file. Cloth Config API and Fabric API must be installed alongside it. The code is open source under the MIT License.

Key features

  1. Level display above mobs

A level number appears over each mob, derived from the mob's maximum health.

  2. Health-based levels

Levels follow health values, so tougher creatures show higher numbers.

  3. Configurable options

Cloth Config API provides the settings screen for adjusting how the labels are shown.

Questions

Does Nameplate need Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API is a required dependency and must be installed next to Nameplate.

Does the server need Nameplate?

Yes. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod.

Does Nameplate need a base mod to work?

The author notes that a separate base mod is needed to produce the levels, and the mod is not usable on its own without one.
