Mystcraft Data Pack: Open New Dimensions! adds seven dimensions and book-based travel to worlds, and players can take it into a save or onto a server.
What it does
Installing the data pack in a world adds seven new dimensions modeled on the MYST game series, each with its own biomes and resources. Players can create books that open a path to these dimensions, and the books can save waypoints, including a last death point, that can be shared with other players. A pocket dimension and more structures and custom biomes give the worlds extra places to explore.
The gameplay guide is opened in game through a trigger, and custom models are used for the opened books. The data pack is installed by placing the datapack zip file in the datapacks folder of a save, while an optional resource pack adds the matching models and textures in the resourcepacks folder. Server owners can run the data pack on a multiplayer server with friends, and the author lists further features as planned.
The mod is open source under the MIT License. Its files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, across 13 release versions 1.21.4 – 26.3, with 1.7.7 for 1.21.7 as the latest file. The server is required, while the client is optional.
