Multibinding

by CloodDev

Multibinding lets players attach more than one key to a single Minecraft control, so one action can be triggered from several keys at once.

FabricClient-side onlyGNU General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.21.11

What it does

Multibinding works on the client only. Holding Shift opens a selection step in the controls menu, where a player chooses which mapping should take an additional key, and then binds that key to it. Releasing Shift completes the binding, so the extra key stays active alongside the original one without replacing it.

The mod requires Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin on Fabric for 1.21.11. It is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only and is open source, with source code published alongside the single 1.0.0 file dated 2026-05-05. The page lists no other game versions, and the mod has no server component to install.

Key features

  1. Multiple keys per action

A control that already has a key can also be bound to another key, so either key triggers the same action.

  2. Shift-based binding

Holding Shift starts the process, and releasing it finishes the new binding in the controls menu.

  3. Mapping selection

The player picks the specific mapping to extend before the new key is recorded, so other controls keep their existing keys.

Use cases

Alternate hand layouts

A player who reaches a key with one hand can add a second key that is easier to press for the same action.

Shared controls on a keyboard

Two keys that sit far apart can both trigger one movement or menu action, without changing the original setup.

Who it’s for: Players on Fabric who want more than one key for a Minecraft control. The mod is client-side, so servers do not need it and players join without installing it.
