MTD Offline Addon
by HiWord9
MTD Offline Addon lets the Totem Doll mod show skins for players who join in offline mode, where Mojang's skin lookup normally fails.
What it does
Totem Doll normally pulls a skin from the Mojang API for the player a totem is named after. That lookup cannot succeed for an offline-mode player, so the addon changes the order of the lookup: it first tries the skin data already held by the local client, and falls back to the usual source only when that data is missing.
Offline skins are cached after they are loaded, and the cache takes priority even for licensed accounts. Once an offline player has left the server, the cached skin can still be shown on a totem. A server running a skin plugin such as Skins Restorer can supply the skin data that the totem displays. The cache behavior can be changed through a ModMenu screen, which uses YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) as its settings library.
The addon is client-side only, so only the player's game needs it and the server runs without it. It requires Fabric Language Kotlin and My Totem Doll, and is published for Fabric and Quilt for 26.1.1, with game versions 1.21.10 – 26.1.1. The code is not open source, and it is released under All rights reserved.
Key features
Offline skin lookup
Totem Doll tries the skin held by the local client before it queries the Mojang API, so offline-mode players can have their skins displayed.
Skin caching
Offline skins are stored after loading, so a totem keeps showing the skin after its player has left the server.
Cache priority
The cache is used first even for licensed accounts, and the behavior can be adjusted in the mod's ModMenu settings.
Skin plugin support
Servers that run a skin plugin such as Skins Restorer can provide the skin that a totem displays.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Players of Totem Doll on offline-mode servers, and server owners who want totems to show skins for offline players.
How it compares
OfflineSkins is a Fabric-only client mod for 1.21.6 – 26.3, released under the MIT License and not open source. HD Skins is open source under the MIT License and runs on Fabric and Quilt for 1.14.4 – 26.3, with a client-side only environment. Craftable Totems is a server-required mod for 1.21.11 with the client optional, under All rights reserved and not open source. MTD Offline Addon does a different job: it works with Totem Doll, not as a general skin tool.

What the author says
MTD Offline Addon makes My Totem Doll mod work with offline mode players. My Totem Doll alone pulls skins from Mojang API, and if a player plays in offline mode and has skin set by server (for example by Skins Restorer plugin), then MTD would not displays their skin on totem named after them, because Mojang API has…
