Moyai is a world generation mod that places naturally spawning moai statues in the world, and it needs Moonlight Lib to run.

What it does

Moyai statues generate rarely in patches on beaches and more often on mushroom islands. A moai can be greeted once a day, and during a full moon it moves at random. Each one plays its own noteblock sound when it is struck.

Moyai is affected by gravity, so a falling statue deals a large amount of damage to entities below it. Players can use Moyai to craft an iron golem, and it can also eat soap. The Fabric build is noted as missing several of these features.

Servers that run it need every player to install it too. Moonlight Lib is required on every loader. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 13 release versions, 1.16.4 – 26.1.2, under All rights reserved, and the code is not open source.

    Moyai appear in beach patches and on mushroom islands, with the mushroom islands giving more frequent spawns.

  2. Daily greetings

    Each moai can be greeted once a day, a small interaction that adds personality to the statues.

    During a full moon, moai move at random, changing the places where they stand.

  4. Unique sound

    Striking a moai plays a distinct boom noteblock sound that sets it apart from other blocks.

  5. Iron golem crafting

    Moyai can be used as ingredients for crafting an iron golem.
