Motion Blur
by Noryea
Motion Blur adds a blur effect to the game picture on Fabric and Quilt, drawn from the Satin API library.
What it does
The mod applies a motion blur effect to the rendered view, so the picture smears along the direction of movement. It is a client-side visual effect and changes nothing on the server. Fabric API and Satin API are required and must be installed alongside it. The code is under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and the mod is open source. Files are published for 1.16 – 1.21.1 across 23 release versions, with 1.0.5 for 1.21.1 as the latest build for both Fabric and Quilt.
Key features
Motion blur effect
The rendered view blurs along the direction the player moves, giving a smeared look during motion.
Satin-based rendering
The effect is built on Satin API, which handles the shader work behind the blur.
Client-only operation
Only the player's client applies the blur, so servers run without it and players join without changes on the server side.
