More Smithing Tables

by LieOn Studios

More Smithing Tables lets Smithing Tables come in wood types, so a world can have a smithing table that matches the rest of a wood set.

FabricClient and serverCreative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.01.20.1 – 26.2

What it does

The mod adds Smithing Tables in several wood types. Vanilla builds the Smithing Table with a crafting recipe that other mods' wood variants tend to break, because adding wood types usually changes that same recipe. This mod gets around the conflict, and it can be combined with the More Compatibility Variants addon to resolve issues across the More X Variants family, which also craft Smithing Tables.

The mod is published for Fabric only, for 20 release versions 1.20.1 – 26.2, with snapshot builds included. The server and every player need the mod installed. The code is under Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0 and is not open source, though public links to the source code and issue tracker exist. More Smithing Tables Z requires it.

Key features

  1. Wood-type Smithing Tables

Smithing Tables are available in wood types, so they can be placed alongside other wood variants.

  2. Crafting recipe workaround

The recipe avoids the conflict that wood-type mods create with the vanilla Smithing Table recipe.

  3. Compatibility addon

A More Compatibility Variants addon lets the family of More X Variants mods craft smithing tables consistently.

  4. Vanilla-matching behavior

The blocks keep the items and blocks vanilla expects from a Smithing Table.

Use cases

Matching wood builds

Builders who use wood-type variants can place a Smithing Table that fits the same palette.

Mixed mod packs

Packs that already include other More X Variants mods can keep Smithing Table recipes working together.

Who it’s for: Players and builders who use wood-type variant mods on Fabric, and server owners running several More X Variants mods on a Fabric server.

What the author says

Unfortunately, the vanilla Smithing Table crafting recipe has to be overridden for the crafting of the variants to function. But usually these mods add their wood types to the Vanilla recipe, which creates a conflict. Fortunately, there is also a fairly easy way around this issue.
