More Lava TFC

by vomiter

Lava that meets TerraFirmaCraft rock types hardens into the matching stone, and More Lava TFC adds three new lava types to world generation to do so.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT License1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

More Lava TFC adds three lava types from TerraFirmaCraft: Felsic, Intermediate and Mafic. When lava types meet, they move through a fixed cycle in which Felsic turns into Intermediate, Intermediate turns into Mafic, Mafic turns into plain vanilla lava, and vanilla lava becomes Felsic again.

During world generation the lowest igneous rock layer of a chunk is replaced with lava from the mod. Plain lava still shows up in the igneous rock layers, and the mod leaves its look, particle effects, fire handling and ambient sound untouched. The mod runs on Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 and requires TerraFirmaCraft on both. Only the Forge build for 1.20.1 is listed as the first file, and the latest NeoForge file targets 1.21.1.

Key features

  1. Three new lava types

Felsic, Intermediate and Mafic lava are added alongside vanilla lava, each drawn from TerraFirmaCraft.

  2. Lava transformation cycle

Lava types convert into one another in a fixed cycle when they come into contact, so mixed flows change over time.

  3. Rock formation by water

Lava that touches water hardens into the matching TerraFirmaCraft rock type, shaping the terrain it creates.

  4. Igneous world generation

The lowest igneous rock layer in each chunk is replaced with the mod's lava, while vanilla lava remains in other layers.

What the author says

When these lava types touch water, they harden into the appropriate TFC rock type, making terrain formation feel more natural and geologically consistent. In world generation, the lava of a chunk would be replaced with lava from this mod based on the lowest igneous rock type. If the rock layer is not igneous, it will…
