More Gears adds six tool and armor sets, six new ingots and two deepslate ores, with a custom recipe mechanic for crafting the new ingots.

What it does

Six tiers of tools, armor and weapons join vanilla Minecraft, with the highest tier marked as indestructible. Two of the new ores are deepslate variants, so the additions also reach the deeper layers of the world. Each of the six tool and armor sets has its own mechanics, such as higher durability or combat benefits suited to its role, including mining capabilities for the tools.

The mod also introduces six new ingots that are made through a custom recipe mechanic rather than standard crafting, which opens separate crafting paths for players to explore. Recipes for the ingots and the gear can be viewed in JEI and REI, and the mod exposes a plugin interface for other integrations.

More Gears is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 15 release versions, 1.20.1 – 26.3. Client and server both need the mod, and the code and assets are under All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source. Public links for the source code, issue tracker and wiki are available.
