More Anvils
by 01stev
More Anvils, a Forge adventure mod for 1.20.1, adds diamond, amethyst and bedrock anvils with their own screens, a Bedrock Hammer tool and trades with villagers.
What it does
Each new anvil has a custom model and a GUI theme of its own in place of the vanilla anvil screen. The Diamond Anvil is a high-tier anvil with a cyan, diamond-styled model and better durability, while the Amethyst Anvil uses a purple crystal look intended for enchanting rooms and fantasy builds. Both are crafted from matching materials, and they keep the classic falling behavior of a normal anvil.
The Bedrock Anvil is the late-game piece, with a dark bedrock-themed screen, resistance to explosions and special breaking rules. Its reduced experience cost system is marked as experimental. The Bedrock Hammer is a custom 3D tool used to break and recover a Bedrock Anvil, and it is fire-resistant. Both the Bedrock Anvil and the Bedrock Hammer are obtained through special late-game villager trades rather than through ordinary crafting.
Survival players, builders and RPG-style modpacks can use More Anvils when they need more anvil choices than vanilla offers. Its repair and enchantment interactions work in many cases, and some combinations may not yet behave as expected, so the author notes they may be refined in future updates. More Anvils runs on the client and the server, so both sides need the mod. Files are published for Forge only, for 1.20.1, under All rights reserved, so the code is not open source.
