Modern Damage Control
by Nora5
Modern Damage Control replaces the single health pool with separate body part damage, so a hit to a leg or arm is tracked apart from the torso and head.
What it does
Each hit is assigned to one of seven regions of the body, from the skull and torso down to each limb, and tracked on its own instead of against one shared health bar. A region can be set to apply status effects such as bleeding, fractures or dizziness when it is struck or destroyed. Death still occurs when the vanilla health reaches zero. The mod can run in a SOFT mode, in which only the status effects apply to a struck region.
Armor provides protection points from 1 to 100 per body part, and that protection weakens as durability drops, keeping at least 50 percent. Bullet impact location is calculated from TACZ's hit detection, so the mod depends on TACZ to know which part was struck. It requires Cloth Config API for configuration management and is published for Forge 1.20.1 only, under the MIT License, with source code and a wiki available.
The mod is classed under Adventure and Game mechanics. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Files were first published on 2026-05-02, and the latest Forge file, 1.0.4 for 1.20.1, was published on 2026-09-04.
